id="article-main_title">
How To Get The Closest Shave

In the world of shaving, there are only two different methods that will allow you to achieve the close shave that you are looking for. There is manual shaving and electric shaving. Whether you chose to shave dry or wet is personal preference. Here is a breakdown about each method to help you choose which is best for you.
Wet shaving is the process of using a manual razor, some type of lubricating agent and water. When choosing to wet shave you first have to choose from the barrage of different types of razors our there on the market. You can choose razors that are disposable or ones that have disposable razor blades. You have the choice of either using the old fashion straight razors or trying the multi bladed razors that are supposed to supply the closest shave possible. Once you choose your blade, you then need to determine what type of lubricant you are going to use. Once again, the market has a whole shelf of agents from shaving cream to shaving soap to gels and oils. These agents are generally used to help moisten the skin and prevent razor burn when shaving using the dry method. Again, this is a personal preference in choosing what type would like to use.
Now that you have the tools, you can get right down to the shaving aspect. The first thing that you need to do is make your face moist using warm water. The next step is to apply whatever lubricant that you choose to your face and neck; then comes the shaving. You should always shave in the direction of the hair growth for maximum closeness of the shave. Make sure to rinse the razor blades often when shaving. This will cut down on the missed areas and make your shaving effort much less time. After you have completed shaving your whole face, you need to rinse with cool water. This will help to close up your pores again. Once you have completed this process, it is your choice as to whether or not you want to apply aftershave. (As there are many different types of aftershave, we will reserve this for another article).
Another method that utilizes the razor blade is the shave twice method. This is usually used by men who have extremely dense, thick facial hair in order to get a closer shave. The only difference is that the second time you shave, you shave in against the direction of the hair growth. You need to make sure that you apply whatever lubricant on your face once again before you shave for the second time. You still end with a cool water rinse at the end of the shave. The downside to this method is that it does increase your chances of getting cuts and can cause soreness and ingrown hairs to occur. The benefits are that you will get the closest shave that you have ever experienced at home.
The final method is the electric shaving method. There are quite few different types of electric razors on the market today. They are all based on the same concept. There are a set of oscillating blades behind a metal foil mesh. The bristles of hair poke through the mesh and are cut by the moving blades. Each type of razor has their own special design on the blades that are supposed to supply a very clean, close shave. Again, it is personal preference as to which type of electric razor you choose to use. The best part about electric razor shaving is that it does not require anything else but the razor. This is a dry method for shaving. You do not have to use any lubricants or rinse your face after shaving. It also eliminates cuts and razor burns.
So, now you know about the different methods for shaving. It is up to you which method you prefer. Just remember, one might not necessarily be better than the other and you may find that you use a different method every time you shave.
<div

Make him feel like a million with new stylish shaving gear. Encourage him to throw away the old used coffee mug and shaving knife, and give him a depilatory shaving mug and kit that simplifies the shaving process when at home and traveling.

Shaving for Confidence

Having a clean, smooth shave can boost your man's confidence like nothing else. He'll be pleasantly surprised that you thought of his needs when selecting a gift. Depilatory magic powder shavers such as Mix'N Shave include safe-shave items such as a handy ceramic mug for storage, quality shaving powder, and a paste blade. He'll have everything he needs to measure, mix, put it on, take it off and leave his shaving gear wherever desired. Even when traveling, he can conveniently leave the shaving gear on the sink counter without fear of it being moved to the kitchen by the maids!

Depilatory magic powder shavers can help him shave with confidence for work or play. This condition occurs when the wiry, curly facial and neck hairs that form a man's beard are closely cut and imbed themselves in the skin. These ingrown hairs can irritate and scar the face, leading to discomfort and unsightly bumps. Doctors often advise men with razor bumps to use a depilatory shaver for bump free shaving because using a razor can cause the condition to worsen.

A Gift for all Occasions

The great thing about depilatory magic powder shavers and shaving mug kits is you can give him one for just about any occasion. Share this special gift with your lover during the Christmas season. Delight him on his birthday. Present a depilatory gift set along with a romantic dinner for two or breakfast in bed on Valentine's Day or your wedding anniversary. Or, include a shaving kit with tickets to his favorite sports team game or tickets for dinner and a movie. There are many ways to lavish him on special occasions while giving a gift he can use every day! For Father's Day, you can surprise your dad with the gift of a clean shave. He'll love his new shaving mug kit and will know how much you care on the day that honors all dads!

Buying depilatory magic powder shaver gift sets is easy online, but be sure to choose a high quality shaver set that will help him shave and not hinder the process. Choose a shaver gift that was designed with men and their shaving needs in mind - maybe even one for easy chest hair removal as well. He'll appreciate your gesture, while enjoying a clean, smooth shave for years to come!

The History Of Electric Razors

Razors have been around for a very long time, although electric razors didnt come into existence until the 1930s. Since then, they have greatly evolved and are now a staple in many peoples beauty repertoires.

Although there were early experiments with clockwork and friction motor, electric razors didnt appear until the 1930s. The electric razor was a actually invented by Canadian Jacob Schick in the 1920s. He thought for sure that a mans age could be extended to 120 years if he properly shaved.

Schick had already invented a system where a person could insert new blades into a razor without having to touch them, so an electric razor was the next step. He did come up with a monstrous device that was much to big to market, but it had to be further developed to make it easier to handle. He waited until an electric motor that was small enough to fit into a hand-held device, but also powerful enough to cut through a beard, was developed.

He sold his first electric razor in 1931 for in New York. In the same year he managed to sell a whopping 3,000 more. This version contained an oscillating induction motor that drove a sliding cutter in a slotted shearing head. The motor had to actually be kick-started using an exposed turn wheel. All of these components were housed in a sleek, black, Bakelite device that could easily be held comfortably in one hand.

Schicks electric razor caught on, and by 1937 1.5 million were in use with its market worth million.

Of course competitors came out of the woodwork, and so did many patent infringements and lawsuits. One such competitor was Gillette, a name that is well-known today.

The Remington Close Shaver and the Sunbeam Shavemaster were also launched in 1937. The latter used a brush motor with a foil shearing head, which was certainly different than Schicks motor and slotted cutter.

Two years later the Philips Philishave launched in the Netherlands, using another technology of a rotating blade behind a circular shearing head.

At the time the cutting area of these electric razors was quite small. In fact, they typically covered an area only a quarter of the size by those of modern electric razors.

Electric razor technology soon launched in Britain in the mid 1930s. Their names, such as Viceroy and Zenith, suggested they were the most up to date gadget that could be found. However, it wasnt until American servicemen arrived in Britain that the electric razor actually caught on.

The electric razor also gained popularity when Hollywood became involved. Seen in such films as The Long Wait and Rear Window, the electric razor was definitely seen as a gadget for the modern man.

Throughout the years the electric razor greatly evolved. For example, models for women were designed. This was something that wasnt seen until the late 1940s.

These days dry shaving isnt necessarily the only option. Some can now be used in conjunction with shaving cream, w while others can be used in the shower.

Cordless, battery-operated models are also available.

Enhance Your Already Perfect Penis By Shaving It

Shaving on and around the penis is being done by males not just for surgery anymore. Just take a look around the locker room the next time you're at the gym.

Today's males say shaving the pubic hairs on and around their penis is a way to feel fresh and look neat and clean. And cleanly shaving their shaft allows a condom to slip on and off much easier.

These are very good reasons to support shaving the penis indeed.

But - If a male is being totally honest, he'll tell you that he is shaving his pubic hair because it gives his penis the appearance of being larger and it gets a lot more, ahem, attention when it's cleanly shaved.

So for those of you males who are interested - Here are a few things you should know before shaving on and around your penis:

1) Never start shaving your penis unless you're sober and fully alert. The pubic area is much more sensitive than your face, which means it's much easier to hurt yourself, so you want your wits about you.

2) And while penis shaving is pretty easy to do, it does require patience and care.

3) If you're shaving for the first time and have long pubic hairs, trim them with scissors or better yet, a hair trimmer.

4) Take a long, hot shower or bath. This will open the follicles, (the skin depressions from which hair emerges), and soften your naturally coarse pubic hairs to make shaving easier.

5) Pat dry your shaft and surrounding area with a soft, clean towel.

6) Apply a generous amount of a rich lubricant. Allow this to sit for at least 3 minutes before you begin shaving.

7) ALWAYS use a new blade in your razor.

Note: It's rumored that if you start shaving your general pubic area, testicles, and inner thighs, you'll get the best optical illusion, er, affect of a larger penis.

If you do decide to start shaving your general pubic area and inner thighs while you're at it, make sure another new blade is easily available so you can change blades if your razor starts to drag.

Start by shaving the penis in the direction the hair grows, making sure you shave all sides. If it isn't already erect, gently pull your penis upwards. This will make it easier to shave.

Once you've removed all hairs, go back and shave against the way the hair grows. This will give you the clean, close and smooth shave you're after. But don't shave the same area more than this second time or apply too much pressure. The last thing you want is a razor burn on your penis from shaving.

After shaving your penis, make sure to completely rinse off any traces of the lubricant with warm water. Then rinse with cold water. This will close and calm the follicles and generally tone the skin.

Pat, don't rub, your penis dry with a clean, soft towel.

Some males apply a non stinging astringent after shaving. But to avoid any reaction, just lightly dust your penis with a talc free powder or plain cornstarch.

Ultimately, you want to prevent any kind of irritation to this newly raw skin. So focus on keeping it dry and doing what you can to limit initial friction. If you don't already, wear some loose fitting boxer shorts for a while after shaving.

Many males go as long as possible between shaves in the belief that it will reduce skin irritation. But it's been suggested that the incoming hair stubble is what causes skin problems, so shaving more often is actually better.

Males who are very physically active are usually shaving every other day.

While it's a fact that eventually, after regular shaving, the hairs will become weaker and softer and your penis will remain smoother - If you're not ready, able and willing to follow the regimen outlined here, you probably shouldn't start shaving your penis.

Because anyone will tell you, there's only one thing worse than a hairy penis - And that's a stubbly, scabby penis.

A dry shaver is definitely the safest penis shaver. Do some research and discover the compact shaver that's designed specifically for safely shaving the penis.
<div

Are you trying to choose between hair removal methods? This guide contains all you need to decide. It details several popular as well as not-so-common methods of getting rid of unwanted hair, including shaving, plucking, waxing, sugar waxing, bleaching, threading, depilatories, electrolysis, laser, and vaniqa.

Shaving

Shaving is a temporary hair removal method. It is inexpensive, but for most people the hair has started to grow back by the following day. To prevent stubble, you must shave once or twice daily. Razors come in all varieties. They can be made of cheap plastic with a single blade which can be bought for a quarter, or a high quality electric version costing or more.

Plucking

Another common hair removal method is plucking, or tweezing, the hair. While this method is time consuming, as you can only pluck one hair at a time, it is useful for smaller areas, such as an extra eyebrow hair or two. However, it can be painful, especially around the eyes, and can cause irritation and ingrown hairs. While it is a myth that by plucking a hair out by its root you are causing two to grow in its place, many women do not pluck their hair for this very reason. But investing in a pair of tweezers is a lifesaver when you want to look perfect for that special occasion.

Waxing

For larger areas, many people prefer to use hot wax. The wax is applied to the skin with a piece of paper or cloth covering it. After the wax cools, the strip is ripped away, taking the hair with it. While this method is fast, it can also be painful. In addition, waxing removes the top layer of skin, and can cause rashes and redness. However, once you become good at the technique, it is an easy and inexpensive way to quickly get rid of unwanted hair at home. Kits can be purchased for -. You can also have your skin waxed by a professional. Depending on the area you are having waxed, this can cost from to around 0.

Sugar Waxing

Sugar waxing is similar in method to traditional waxing, except that the "wax" is a sticky sugary paste. Sugaring is even less expensive, as home kits can be bought for as little as .

Bleaching

Rather than removing the hair, some women prefer to lighten it. This is especially common for women with facial hair. Bleaching is completely pain-free, and can be done at home. Most women do not have any skin reactions to the bleach; however, as with a hair dye, be sure to test first on a small, inconspicuous part of your skin, just in case the bleach does change your skin color or cause irritation.

Threading

Threading, also known as khite, is commonly practiced in the Middle East but much less well-known in the west. It is performed using a cotton thread. The thread is twisted, catching the hair, and is then pulled to remove it. The results are similar to plucking, but many more hairs can be removed at one time. Always use cotton so the fibers themselves do not irritate the skin.

Depilatories

Depilatories are creams that dissolve hair, allowing it to be wiped away. For some people, depilatories last no longer than shaving, while others are hair-free for several days. The process is not always painless, but is definitely less painful than waxing. The creams can be bought for a few dollars at any drug store.

Electrolysis

Electrolysis is a permanent hair removal method. A needle is placed in a hair follicle and electric current is delivered to the follicle. This damages the hair, and it does not return. This method works well for small localized areas of hair, but can be time consuming and costly for large patches, as each hair must be done individually. Also, if the needle is not inserted just right, the hair may need to be retreated, and often an area must be treated three to four times before the hair is permanently removed. While the needle should not puncture the skin, electrolysis can be painful. It is recommended that electrolysis be done by a professional; home treatment methods are difficult and generally unsuccessful.

Laser

Laser hair removal is another permanent hair removal method. It is a more recent method, and data as to its long-term effectiveness is still being gathered. Light from a laser is pointed at a small area of skin. The energy from the light is absorbed by the dark hair pigment, heating and damaging the follicle. This method does not work for white or grey hair or for people with dark skin and light hair. Because this method does not require each hair to be treated individually, this method is much quicker and less expensive for larger areas such as the legs as compared to electrolysis. If you are interested in laser hair removal, find a reputable professional. Laser hair removal can cause permanent skin damage if not performed properly. It can be painful, but as more research continues to be gathered, its looking more and more like a viable option for many people. The only place laser hair removal should not be performed is around the eyes, as it could cause permanent eye damage.

Vaniqa

Vaniqa is a cream designed specifically to target facial hair in women. It is intended to slow the growth of this hair, and is designed to be used with other nonpermanent methods of hair removal. It is available by prescription only, and has been shown to be effective in almost 60% of the patients in the trial. It is currently only for use by women over 12.

Remember when your mother always told you that you didn't really want to start shaving? But you insisted that you would want to continue for the rest of your life. However, for many women, unwanted hair causes major stress and discomfort everyday. You should now be able to more easily choose between the many hair removal methods and choose the one that is right for you.
<div

This happens because the hair begins to curl back on itself and does not break through the skin. Ingrown hairs are not dangerous, but can get infected and painful.

The appearance of ingrown hairs is very common, especially in people that have curly hair. This is why it is important that you prepare your skin and hair before removing it. Prevention is simple and can avoid problems in the future.

Preventing Ingrown Hairs

You can prevent ingrown hairs from forming by following these simple steps.

*Always use a sharp blade. Dull blades make the ends of the hair jagged. This makes it easier for them to burrow under the skin.

*Before shaving, prepare your skin by moistening it with a shaving product. This will help soften the skin and the hairs will be easier to shave and remove.

*Prefer to use an electrical razor rather than a hand razor. An electric razor does not cut the hair to a sharp edge, which will help keep the hair from reentering the follicle.

*If you wax, make sure that your hair growth is at least a quarter of an inch. If it is shorter, chances are the shaft will break during the waxing process. This will increase your chances of developing ingrown hairs.

Hair Removal & Ingrown Hair Removal

The basic idea behind ingrown hair removal is to release the hair that is trapped underneath the skin. This will prevent any infection or irritation from setting in. Ingrown hair removal is a simple technique that can easily be incorporated as part of your daily skin care routine.

After having removed hair (by waxing or shaving) you should exfoliate the treated area. This simple step will help you keep the skin from closing over the hair follicles. If you want to make the process easier, simple use a body scrub when you're in the shower.

A scrub, or mechanical exfoliation, is a very popular way of exfoliating the skin. However, if you don't want to use abrasive substances then you can use a chemical exfoliator on your face. AHAs and salicylic acid are probably the most popular chemical exfoliators.

These ingredients can be found in several different products. They are normally used to treat acne, and can be used on any skin type as long as it isn't too sensitive. Simply apply the product to the areas that you want to treat - such as chin and sides of the face - before the hair begins growing back.
<div
